Onecom, recognised as Vodafone’s Strategic Partner of the Year for 14 consecutive years, is pivotal in a transformative project with ResiSure to deploy 20,000 IoT devices across the UK. This collaboration utilises the robust capabilities of Vodafone’s Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) network to significantly improve residential living conditions.
ResiSure’s innovative devices, powered by Onecom’s Internet of Things (IoT) solutions on Vodafone’s network, monitor essential home environmental factors such as damp, mould, heat loss, and air quality. These IoT devices, engineered for non-intrusive operation and requiring no Wi-Fi connectivity, represent a breakthrough in residential monitoring technology.
This strategic initiative directly addresses pressing needs mandated by UK housing legislation, such as Awaab’s Law and the Building Safety Act, offering landlords and property managers a proactive tool to ensure safer, healthier living environments.
Alex Roberts, Onecom’s Head of IoT, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s scale and impact: "By integrating Onecom’s IoT solutions with Vodafone’s cutting-edge NB-IoT network, ResiSure’s devices offer an unprecedented level of real-time monitoring capability. This technology is not just about compliance—it’s about enhancing the quality of life for thousands of tenants across the UK."
The deployment has already proven its value, with property managers reporting reduced maintenance costs and tenants enjoying peace of mind, knowing their homes are continuously monitored for potential hazards. The simple setup and operation of the devices facilitate widespread implementation, leading to rapid adoption across the housing sector.
As a customer of ResiSure’s, Andy from Woodacre Homes Estate & Lettings Agency highlighted the benefits: "ResiSure’s technology provides crucial insights that enable us to swiftly identify and mitigate potential issues, thereby ensuring our tenants' well-being and maintaining our properties’ integrity."
Looking ahead, ResiSure plans to extend its IoT offerings to include solutions like leak detection and enhanced energy monitoring, which promise to further improve tenant living conditions and operational efficiencies for landlords.
"With the support of Onecom and leveraging Vodafone’s extensive IoT network, we are set to broaden the impact of our technologies, reaching more properties and continuing to innovate in ways that matter," added James Auger, Head of Sales at ResiSure.
